SSD Whole Disk Encryption

I have a Samsung 840 Pro SSD (256gb). My company requires that all drives (in laptops) are encrypted using PGP whole disk encryption.

Does anyone know if WDE will function ok on this drive?

As far as I can tell Symantec PGP WDE does support SSDs. I do expect a performance hit due to the encryption.

However I am wondering about the effect on the lifetime of the drive, in particular due to wear levelling.

Also the drive supports AES 256-bit encryption - will PGP WDE make use of this?
