I'm having a problem where my users try to send encrypted emails that get quarantined by SMSDOM if there is a PDF attached. This is the local S/MIME encryption through Lotus Notes. The encrypted emails go through without issue for any other type of document, but any PDF will cause the email to get quarantined. These same PDF files are able to pass SMSDOM if they are not encrypted. Is there a way to prevent these emails from being quarantined?
The error is:
Please check the Symantec Mail Security for Domino Log for more information.
The scanned document was QUARANTINED.
Violation Information:
One or more components could not be scanned due to scan error (Unable to extract content) from anything.pdf.
From a Symantec tech article it looks like the error is due to a corrupted attachment, but when I open the quarantined documents in savquar the PDFs open without issue. Why is SMSDOM detecting these as corrupted?
Unable to Extract Content
