Add Custom Groups When SEPM Synced w/AD?

SEPM 12.1.4.

We're synced with our Active Directory in SEPM. Is it possible to add custom groups and put clients in them when the clients are in AD?

Playing around with this, I'm able to create a custom group but not able to move any clients into that group. Right-clicking the client does not have the option to move.
