I'm tasked to plan and perform a migration of SEP 12.1.1 solution from legacy Data-center (Sep1) to a new Data-center (Sep2) + design a solution for a new site (Sep3) that will be implemented in the future and should be manageable from Sep2.
When migrating from Sep1 to Sep2, SEPM has to change IP and hostname.
I had hoped to perform migration task using the replication method.
But this document
http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH171767
and others, state:
"Using Replication: this is a faster solution to implement, but can only be done once due to limitations with replication"
"Replication is an option, if you do replication and remove the old server that is the Primary SEPM, in future if you want to do replication you will not be able to do so."
Does this mean that I won't be able to set up Sep3 as a replication partner of Sep2 in the future? if so, is there any possible way around this or do I have to go for the Disaster & recovery method instead?
Would be grateful if someone could shine some more light on the replication limitations.
Best regards
