As you all know when downloading defs using liveupdate it shows that it connect to a link on symantec liveupdate and when downloading defs from SEP Manager also it connects to a link so I need to identify this link when the client connects to SEPM is there is anyway to know it?

Client have Proxy ASG running version 6.6.5.9 deployed in explicit mode.. Authentication relam configured as IWA Direct method.
While browsing the AD users in VPM, it's not listing all the users. Only limitied users are displayed in the list.

I had Windows 10 Home edition. After installing Encryption Desktop and encrypting the main drive, upon re-start I did not get a Bootguard screen.
I was able to enter my passphrase, though. For obvious reasons, I decrypted the drive to look for a solution.
I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, but did not uninstall/reinstall ED. I encrypted the drive, but still got a black screen upon startup. Once again, I was able to enter my pass phrase, which allowed the computer to start up.
The computer is a Dell XPS 8920.
It's 64 bit.
Any help is appreciated!

Customer want to configure the Symantec 2 FA for Windows Logon.( Desktop & Laptop Users ) And whenever the User will Login into the system first there should be prompt to insert the OTP and if the OTP is entered correctly, than only the User should get the another prompt to enter the Manual Password which is been set by the induvial user.
just add to this, user should get second prompt of windows only after connected to internet and login into vpn

We are looking for a solution, please do not tell us to run SymDiag, or reinstall/update to the latest unless you absolutely know it will fix the problem.
Beginning Friday, September 22, 2017, we started getting an error on ALL clients when downloading the 170922012 IPS def update. The error is "An update for Intrusion Prevention Signatures from LiveUpdate failed to install. Error: Postsession callback failed (208)." We are downloading directly from the Symantec LiveUpdate server at liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com. Nothing has changed in our environment
We can manually run LiveUpdate from the client UI a second time and the IPS update is successful.
What exactly is a "Postsession callback failed (208)" error? Has anyone else experienced this problem with the 09/22/17 r12 IPS defs?
We're assuming that there is a Symantec issue with the 09/22/17 r12 IPS defs since it's happening on all machines.
Absolutely nothing has changed in our environment.
Hopefully someone from Symantec will see this and investigate.

Does the password have any special requirements?
After we unlock, test connection ok....test sample record ok
Then few mins/hours..it will fail and become locked again.....any idea?

I have the follwing setup:
1 x server with SEP 14
1 x server with SEP 11 (not in use anymore)
clients running version 11 and 14 mixed.
We are planning on upgrading the clients who are running v11 to 14.
I did some testing and I can upgrade the clients from 11 to v14 without a issue.
After the computer reboots I see that Liveupdate is greyed out (it is enable in SEP manager)
It gives following message: Your virus and spyware def. are missing or corrupted. This computer will not be protected against viruses and spyware until new defenitions are downloaded.
If I do a uninstall of the client and push it again it works and the clients are getting latest difinitions.
But i don't wanne uninstall 400 clients mannualy afcourse..
Is there anybody who can help me out? It looks like the client is not connected to the new SEP 14 server. Is there a way to force is to connect to the server?

after upgrading from 12.1.6 RU6 to 12.1.6 RU8 massive problems on our Domain Controllers appeared. The AD is not working anymore and we had to restore the DCs from backup.
I used the SEPM and upgraded the synced AD-Groups with the new version, as I did many times before. I also stopped the service to get back to the old version.
Are there any known issus about this? I would appreciate any help as the whole company is stuck.

My problem is that it Failed to register client administrator. Error %2.
Encryption is not starting to encrypt the disk, also installation by GPO does not start automatically. I started my created MSI manually.
Any ideas?

Since the Management Center does integrate with Reporter, I figured I would ask here.

In the MAA Admin Guide for V4.2.11 (dated 2/2/17), on PDF page 12, the base images are listed:
Four (4) base images ship with MAA 4.2.
Windows XP, Service Pack 3 (32-bit)
Windows 7, Service Pack 1 (32-bit)
Windows 7, Service Pack 1 (64-bit)
Windows 8 (64-bit)
Question: When can we expect Windows 10 be added as a base image?
If it means dropping the Windows XP base image (MS support ended in Spring, 2014!), that would be fine with me!

Have a bit of a strange situation. Have a workstation that one day started causing some intrusion prevention alerts to be sent to the admin. Not a huge deal SEPSBE handled it, but then when we went to that machine and looked at it's history of events there was no record of the event in Resolved Security Risk. Is there some other place I should look for this event on the local workstation?
Can someone recommend of NTP should be installed on the server OS?

Hi ,
I was trying to integrate the AD with Managemet center. But it didn't succeed.Below are steps perfromed by me
1) Added the Group in Managment center as same as in Active Directory
2) Enabled the "group member syncup" and "user must have permission".
3) Enabled the AD authenication and provided the AD domain and IP address.
None of the users synced to Mangement center. Also i doubted no User name and password provided for AD integration . With that wheather Management center can sync the users ?
