Hi All,
I have installed on a Windows7 client the SEP 12.1.4112.4156. The installation package is unpacked. After the installation the SEP works fine but I'm unable to delete some installation files that are contained inside the following folders:
- Symantec Endpoint Protection version 12.1.4112.4156 - English\setup\Program Files\Symantec\Name\Version\Bin
- Symantec Endpoint Protection version 12.1.4112.4156 - English\setup\Program Files\Symantec\Name\Version\Bin64
I have the same result also if I reboot the machine.
In particular I have these error message:
The only way to delete the installation folder are:
- Stop the SEP (smc -stop)
- Move (cat and past) the installation folder to another path and after delete it
..but unfortunately I must delete the folder without use those workarounds.
I'm not able to delete the source installation files also with some utilities like UnLockIT or Unlocker (baceuse I receive the message "no locking handle found" or "the file system resource in not locked by any process")....but in any case I must solve the issue without use third-party utilities.
How I can solve this "strange" problem? Why the installed SEP does not allow to delete sole installation files?
